Had a 10-year major league career, concluding in 2015 with the Cubs ... spent time with Cincinnati (2005-06), Oakland (2008-09), San Diego (2010-14), Seattle (2014) and the Cubs (2015) ... Attended Wheaton College (Mass.) where he was an NCAA Division III All-American in 2002 and was inducted into the inaugural class of the Wheaton Hall of Fame in 2013 ... graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall High School in Wallingford, Conn.

Playing Career

Chris played in 10 major league seasons, batting a combined .272 (587-for-2,162) with 103 doubles, 17 triples, 41 homers and 196 RBI ... batted .269 (57-for-212) with 11 doubles and three homers in 103 games with the Cubs in 2015 ... Played for Italy during the 2009 and 2013 World Baseball Classic ... batted a combined .387 (12-for-31) in eight games across the two tournaments ... Originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds as a 19th round selection in the 2002 draft.
