MLB.com Ballpark app - Account Set Up & Linking

Do I need an MLB.com account?

Yes. When you download the MLB.com Ballpark app, you will need to create or log in with an MLB.com account. An MLB.com account is free and easy to create directly from the MLB.com Ballpark app or any Cubs.com webpage from the top navigation bar.

Is my MLB.com account the same as my ticket account?

No. A ticket account is automatically created when you purchase Cubs tickets online or offline. You can link your ticket account and your Cubs.com/MLB.com account by following the instructions below. Once your accounts are linked, you can use the different features and functionalities of either MLB.com Ballpark or My Cubs Tickets to manage your tickets. Your account may already be linked. A list of linked accounts is available by clicking settings -> Ticket Accounts.

How do I locate my ticket account?

Your ticket account is where your Cubs tickets are held. You are issued an account number (by mail or email) and typically an email address is associated with that account. Use the email address associated with your Cubs ticket account to link that account with your MLB.com account. Please note the email address associated with your Cubs ticket account and your MLB.com account may be the same. If you are having trouble locating or accessing your ticket account, please contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

Why do I need to link my ticket account?

Since your MLB.com account and your ticket account are separate, in order for the app to find your tickets, you will have to identify an associated ticket account to retrieve your tickets in the app. The app will then link that ticket account to an MLB.com account.

How do I link my ticket account?

Tap the "Link Account" button, then enter the email address tied to your ticket account. We will send an email there to verify you own that email address. Click on the link sent to your email address, then your ticketing account will be linked to your MLB.com account. You may also link your ticket account within the MLB.com Ballpark app by clicking the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar.

What if I don't receive the confirmation email or my ticket account is not found?

Make sure you entered your email address correctly and that it is the address associated with your ticket account. If you still do not receive your notification or your account is not located, please contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

I already linked my ticket account and MLB.com account. Do I need to link them again?

No. If you have already linked your ticket account and MLB.com account, the MLB.com Ballpark app will recognize that link and not ask you to link again. This account linking typically occurs when you buy tickets online or when managing your account in the My Cubs Tickets portal. A list of linked accounts is available by clicking settings -> Ticket Accounts.

How do I link multiple accounts?

You can link another ticket account (e.g., for another MLB team) within the MLB.com Ballpark app by clicking the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. Under settings, select "Ticket Accounts" and click "Link Account" at the top of the page. Then select your team and enter the email address associated with the ticket account you are trying to link.

How do I unlink a ticket account?

You can unlink any individual ticketing account(s) from your MLB.com account within the Ballpark app via the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. Select "Ticket Accounts" to view your linked accounts and choose which account you'd like to unlink.

What if the email address associated with my ticketing account is different from the email address associated with my MLB.com account?

You can link any email address tied to your ticketing account with your MLB.com account as long as you can receive emails at that address. If you cannot receive email at the address associated with your ticket account, contact us as fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

I just linked my MLB.com and ticket accounts. Why aren't my tickets showing up in MLB.com's Ballpark app?

Within the MLB.com Ballpark app, select the "Tickets" tab and swipe down to refresh and see your updated ticket inventory. Confirm you have linked the ticket account by clicking the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. If your tickets still do not appear, check the "Teams" section on the top left navigation bar to confirm you have selected the Chicago Cubs as your team. The "Tickets" tab FAQs below contain additional information about locating tickets (including which tickets might not appear within the app). If you are still having trouble finding tickets you think should be accessible within your MLB.com Ballpark app, contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

MLB.com Ballpark app - "Tickets" Tab

What is the "Tickets" tab?

The "Tickets" tab lets you quickly access and manage your Cubs mobile tickets in the MLB.com Ballpark app. After downloading the Ballpark app, visit the "Teams" section on the top left navigation bar and select Chicago Cubs as your team. You will then see two tabs, "Tickets" and "Ballpark." Click on the "Tickets" tab to view your available mobile tickets or purchase tickets directly from within the app.

Can I see all my tickets for all teams within the "Tickets" tab, or just one team at a time?

You can see your tickets from one home team at a time. If you want to see tickets for a different home team, visit the "Teams" section on the top left navigation bar and select that team.

Where can I see more event details about the game?

In the "Ballpark" tab, you can find helpful information about visiting Wrigley Field, including but not limited to a ballpark map, transportation information and the Wrigley Field A to Z guide.

What will happen to my tickets if I sell them on StubHub?

Tickets sold on StubHub will disappear from the "Tickets" tab once sold.

If I purchase tickets via Stubhub, will they appear in my MLB.com Ballpark app?

Tickets purchased via Stubhub will appear in the Stubhub app, not the MLB.com Ballpark app.

Can I sell my tickets via MLB.com Ballpark app?

If you wish to resell any tickets you've purchased directly from the Cubs, you may do so via your My Cubs Tickets account or by visiting StubHub.com, the official ticket resale marketplace of the Chicago Cubs. Tickets may be forwarded via the MLB.com Ballpark app but resale functionality is not available at this time.

Can I purchase tickets to Cubs games at Wrigley Field from secondary marketing providers other than StubHub?

The Cubs do not recommend purchasing tickets from sources other than the Cubs directly or StubHub, the official secondary marketplace of the Chicago Cubs. Copies of barcodes presented through other third-party applications, screenshots or print outs will not be accepted at Wrigley Field. For fans who do purchase from other providers, our team is not able to provide support or troubleshooting for any issues regarding their ticket. Fans using any other channels to purchase tickets do so at their own risk.

What if I cannot find tickets I purchased or tickets that were forwarded to me?

Within the MLB.com Ballpark app, select the "Tickets" tab and swipe down to refresh and see your updated ticket inventory. Confirm you have linked the ticket account by clicking the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. If your tickets still do not appear, check the "Teams" section on the top left navigation bar to confirm you have selected the Chicago Cubs as your team. If your Cubs tickets were originally forwarded to you by another MLB.com Ballpark app user, the original sender may have cancelled the forward. You should check with the person who sent you the tickets. If you are still having difficulty locating mobile tickets you believe should be appearing in your "Tickets" tab, contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

Which types of tickets will be displayed in the MLB.com Ballpark app?

The MLB.com Ballpark app displays MLB regular season and postseason tickets within the team view. Any games or events beyond the MLB regular season and postseason (including but not limited to Spring Training, Cubs Convention, concerts and other events) will not be displayed. Tickets that have been forwarded will not show a barcode. There will be a message that the ticket has been forwarded with a cancel button in place of the barcode.

If I purchase tickets directly from the Chicago Cubs and select the Mail or Will Call options, will those tickets also appear in the MLB.com Ballpark app?

Yes, a mobile version of your purchased ticket will appear in the MLB.com Ballpark app. Select ticket types (group tickets, suite rentals) will not appear in the MLB.com Ballpark app at this time. For tickets that have a mail delivery method, the tickets will show within the app once the physical ticket has been printed and shipped. If you have selected Will Call, your tickets will show instantly within the app. Please note, once a Will Call ticket is shown on the app, it will be considered printed and no longer will be available for Will Call pickup.

Your eligible tickets will appear in the app once your ticket account is linked within the app. Note the same ticket can only be scanned once, e.g., if the hard copy ticket is scanned first, that ticket cannot be used for entry via the ticket barcode in the MLB.com Ballpark app.

Will large group tickets (15+ tickets) and premier rental tickets (example: Fannie May Bleacher Sweet) be listed on the "Tickets" tab in the MLB.com Ballpark app?

No. At this time, large groups of 15+ in standard or premier group spaces will remain as Mail or Will Call tickets. See Cubs.com/groups or Cubs.com/premier for these group or premier ticket options.

In regards to the 2017 regular season single game on-sale, at what point in time will the tickets I purchase be listed on the "Tickets" tab of the MLB.com Ballpark app?

Once purchased via an exclusive presale or the general on-sale, your tickets will automatically appear on the "Tickets" tab in the MLB.com Ballpark app.

What other delivery methods exist for tickets to Cubs games at Wrigley Field?

In addition to instant mobile delivery via the MLB.com Ballpark app, you can select Mail or Will Call as delivery methods when purchasing your Cubs tickets.

Can I still print my Cubs tickets at home?

No, to improve security and reduce the risk of ticket fraud, print-at-home tickets in any form are no longer accepted for entry at Wrigley Field.

When I retrieve a ticket using the app, will it invalidate existing tickets that were previously printed?

No. If you are a Cubs Season Ticket Holder or are a single game buyer in possession of hard copy tickets, the app will display a copy of that ticket's existing barcode provided your ticket account is linked. When entering Wrigley Field, either the hard copy ticket or the ticket barcode in the app can be used to scan in at the gate. Note the same ticket can only be scanned once, e.g., if the hard copy ticket is scanned first, that ticket cannot be used for entry via the ticket barcode in the MLB.com Ballpark app.

MLB.com Ballpark app - Mobile Ticket Barcode

What is a Mobile Ticket Barcode?

You will use the mobile ticket barcode for entry into Wrigley Field via your mobile device. Within the "Tickets Tab" you can tap on an individual ticket to pull up this barcode. For entrance to Wrigley Field, present your mobile device with the mobile barcode pulled up.

How do I access the ticket to scan for entry?

Tap on an individual ticket from the "Tickets" Tab to pull up the mobile ticket barcode. The Section/Row/Seat and barcode will be displayed along with access to the terms and conditions governing your ticket.

Why is my ticket barcode not showing in the MLB.com Ballpark app?

There are several possibilities that could influence if and when your ticket barcode appears. The most common possibilities include: you forwarded that ticket; a ticket forwarded to you was recalled; you are a group or premier buyer; or the ticket status has changed. For mailed tickets, the ticket barcode will not appear until those tickets have been printed and mailed to you.

For further questions, contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270 for assistance.

I just forwarded a ticket via the MLB.com Ballpark app. Why do I still see it?

Your ticket, without the barcode, will remain in your "Tickets" Tab until your forward is accepted by the recipient. If you wish to cancel the forward, you can do that directly from the ticket.

During what window of time can I forward tickets to friends?

You can forward tickets to friends via the MLB.com Ballpark app from the moment you purchase them until two hours after the start of that day's game, so long as that ticket has not already been scanned in for entry at Wrigley Field.

What should I do if I need to enter Wrigley Field for the start of the game and my friends aren't there yet?

You can easily forward tickets to friends via the MLB.com Ballpark app up to two hours after the start of that day's game. Or, you can visit the Wrigley Field Ticket Office and arrange to leave tickets at Will Call.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

No, screenshots of tickets will not be accepted for entry to Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Mobile tickets purchased directly from the Cubs must be presented within the MLB.com Ballpark app. Fans may be asked to "refresh" their ticket in the Ballpark app in order to prove it is valid. All tickets purchased directly from StubHub will appear in the StubHub app and can be scanned for entry via the StubHub app. Copies of barcodes presented through other third-party applications, screenshots or print-outs will not be accepted at Wrigley Field.

Is Apple Wallet supported?

No, the MLB.com Ballpark app does not currently support Apple Wallet. With the removal of the print-at-home delivery option, Apple Wallet will no longer be a valid form of entry into Wrigley Field for Cubs games.

What if I cannot see my tickets when trying to enter Wrigley Field?

Within the MLB.com Ballpark app, select the "Tickets" tab and swipe down to refresh and see your updated ticket inventory. Confirm you have linked the ticket account by clicking the "Settings" icon located on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. If your tickets still do not appear, check the "Teams" section on the top left navigation bar to confirm you have selected the Chicago Cubs as your team. If your Cubs tickets were originally forwarded to you by another MLB.com Ballpark user, the original sender may have cancelled the forward and you should check with the person who sent you the tickets. If you are still having difficulty locating mobile tickets you believe should be appearing in your Tickets tab, contact us at fanservices@cubs.com, 773-388-8270 or visit the Wrigley Field Ticket Office.

Why won't my ticket barcode scan?

If your screen brightness is too low, the barcode may have difficulty being scanned. The MLB.com Ballpark app will automatically attempt to increase the brightness of your display or you can do so manually by following the instructions for your device. Please note, cracked screens may impact your barcode's ability to scan. The barcode displayed is accompanied by a number. If there are difficulties reading a valid barcode on a digital ticket displayed within MLB.com Ballpark app, visit the Wrigley Field Ticket Office. Only mobile tickets generated from the MLB.com Ballpark app and StubHub app will accepted. Copies of barcodes presented through other third-party applications, screenshots or print outs will not be accepted at Wrigley Field.

What if I lose connectivity after I've retrieved my tickets?

The data associated with your tickets will be saved to a storage area on your phone. If you have previously retrieved details for tickets to a game and those tickets are still valid, they can be re-displayed out of this storage without re-establishing a connection. We recommend viewing and loading your tickets prior to arriving at Wrigley Field to ensure they are stored regardless of connectivity.

If I access my tickets from the MLB.com Ballpark app, can I still have them printed at a Will Call window?

Since tickets retrieved within MLB.com Ballpark will now be considered printed, the tickets will not be available for pickup at Will Call. You should present the ticket displayed in MLB.com Ballpark on your mobile device for entry at the gate. If you are unable to access your ticket, go to a Ticket Office window for assistance on game day. If you have any questions, please contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

What do I do if my mobile device's battery dies?

Visit the nearest Ticket Office window for assistance. Once inside Wrigley Field, a phone charging station is available on the main concourse.

MLB.com Ballpark app - Ticket Forwarding

What is Ticket Forwarding?

The MLB.com Ballpark app provides an easy way to forward tickets to family, friends, colleagues, account partners and others with whom you wish to share your tickets.

How do I forward a ticket?

Select the ticket you wish to forward. You can then choose to "Forward Ticket" or "Forward Ticket via Link." Selecting "Forward Ticket" allows you to enter an email address or choose from your Address Book by tapping the plus button. You can then add the recipient's name (optional) and a message (optional) before tapping "Send" to complete the forward. If you wish to send by another method, you can tap "Forward Ticket via Link" which will provide you a unique link to share.

Will the MLB.com Ballpark app automatically link to the contacts that exist in My Cubs Tickets?

No. At this time, My Cubs Tickets contacts will not automatically link to the MLB.com Ballpark app. However, the Ballpark app will automatically link to the address book and contacts in your mobile device.

How does "Forward Ticket via Link" work?

A unique link, which holds the key to your ticket, will be generated and you can distribute it as you see fit. Please only share this link with one person to whom you are forwarding your ticket. If you share the link with multiple recipients, whomever clicks that link and completes the "forward accept" process first will get that ticket. Please treat this link as a ticket!

What if I accidentally send the ticket to the wrong email address?

See "Can I cancel a ticket forward?" below for instructions on canceling the ticket forward. You can then resend the ticket to the correct email address.

How will my recipient know I forwarded tickets?

If you selected "Forward Ticket," both you (as the sender) and the recipient will receive an email confirming the action. The recipient will have a unique link in the email to accept the ticket. If you selected "Forward Ticket via Link," the recipient will receive the notification by whatever method you selected for delivering the link.

How do I accept a ticket forward?

You must click "Accept" from the email invitation you received. If you do not already have the MLB.com Ballpark app on your supported iOS or Android device, you will be prompted to download it.

I do not have a supported iOS or Android device. Can I still accept a ticket forward?

Yes, you can accept and receive your tickets in a standard web browser. Once a ticket forward has been accepted, if you do not have a supported device, you can visit the Wrigley Field Ticket Office to get a physical ticket printed.

What if the email address where I received the ticket forward is not the same as the email address associated with my MLB.com account?

The email address at which you received your tickets does not need to match the email address associated with your MLB.com account. However, these accounts do need to be linked. You can find instructions for linking accounts above.

Can I reject a ticket forward?

Yes, just click, "I do not want to accept this ticket" on the Ticket Accept webpage. This webpage is accessible only from the ticket forward email sent to the recipient.

If I receive a forwarded ticket, can I re-forward that ticket to another recipient?

Yes, a ticket can be forwarded to a new recipient from the MLB.com Ballpark app after it has been accepted by the original recipient. You (as the sender), the new recipient and previous recipient will receive an email confirming the action.

Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward?

Yes, the sender can cancel a ticket forward for Cubs home games any time before the barcode has been scanned. This can be accomplished from the Ticket Tab by selecting an individual ticket and tapping "Cancel" or by navigating to the Ticket Forward section of the "Tickets" tab. Select the specific Forward then tap "Cancel." The recipient of the ticket you forwarded will be notified. If the ticket is forwarded again and the original sender cancels the forward, the second recipient will be notified and the ticket will disappear from their Tickets tab.

Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward after it has been accepted?

Yes, the original ticket sender can cancel a ticket forward for a Cubs home game even after it has been accepted. The sender and recipient will be notified by email of this action and the ticket will disappear from the recipient's (or anyone they forwarded it to) Tickets tab. However, once the ticket has been scanned for entry, the forward cannot be canceled.

Can I cancel a Cubs ticket forward after it has been accepted and re-sent?

Yes, the original ticket sender can cancel the forward for a ticket to a Cubs home game regardless of how many times it has been re-forwarded as long as it has not been scanned for entry yet. The sender and original recipient will be notified by email of this action, and the ticket will disappear from the Ticket Tab and/or My Cubs Tickets account of whomever the ticket had last been forwarded to.

Can I transfer multiple Cubs tickets to a single account?

Yes. Tickets can be forwarded together from the same event or one ticket at a time.

Where can I find the status of all Cubs Ticket Forwards?

You can navigate to the Ticket Forward section of the Ticket Tab. There, you will find all received and sent ticket forwards for that home team.

What if I never received the Ticket Forward email?

If you are expecting to receive a ticket forward but were never notified by email, contact the sender. The sender can cancel the current Ticket Forward then re-send to you by email or share the ticket via link. If you or the sender are still having difficulties, contact us at fanservices@cubs.com or 773-388-8270.

If I contact Fan Services, can they forward tickets via the MLB.com Ballpark app on my behalf?

No. If you wish to provide tickets to friends or family, contact Fan Services to discuss your mail or Will Call options.

If the person I forward tickets to deletes the email they received to accept the ticket(s) before they click "Accept," what should I do?

The ticket owner should cancel their original ticket forward and then re-forward the ticket via the MLB.com Ballpark app so the recipient receives a new email through which to accept the ticket(s).
