Royals at the plate: Emil Brown hit a two-run homer with two outs in the fourth, Mike Sweeney hit a three-run homer in the fifth and Alex Gordon followed with a solo shot on the next pitch in the fifth.

Cubs at the plate: Ronny Cedeno hit a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game. Aramis Ramirez hit an RBI double and a two-run homer, while Matt Murton hit a pair of RBI doubles, and Derrek Lee and Ryan Theriot each hit RBI doubles. Angel Pagan tripled and scored on a wild pitch in a five-run second inning.

Royals on the mound: Starter Jorge De La Rosa gave up six runs on five hits and three walks over 1 2/3 innings. Jason Standridge threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Cubs on the mound: Rich Hill gave up six runs, four earned, on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings. He did not walk a batter all spring over 15 2/3 innings. Michael Wuertz served up the back to back homers by Sweeney and Gordon.

Cactus League records: Royals 10-15; Cubs 15-12-1.

Up next: The Royals will play host to the San Diego Padres in Surprise on Wednesday. David Wells is scheduled to start for the Padres against the Royals' Gil Meche. The Cubs will play host to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. Mark Prior is scheduled to start for Chicago, his third start and fourth Cactus League game. In his last start March 22, he gave up one run on four hits over four innings while striking out three against the Padres.
