CHICAGO -- Pat Gillick denied a Chicago radio report that he has talked to Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts about possibly joining the team's front office, saying the report was "entirely not true."
Gillick, who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend, said he's never met the Cubs owner.
"I don't know Mr. Ricketts," Gillick told reporters on Saturday. "I've never even met him."
Gillick, 73, is currently employed by the Phillies and said he thinks current Cubs general manager Jim Hendry is doing a good job.
"They've had a lot of injuries," Gillick said. "I've always found Jim to be very forthright."
