Diamondbacks at the plate:
Augie Ojeda, who was Jon Lieber's teammate on the Cubs from 2000-02, got the only two hits off the right-hander. Javier Brito hit an RBI double in the eighth.
Cubs at the plate:
Felix Pie hit a two-run single to highlight a four-run second inning. Alfonso Soriano, back in the lineup for the first time since the spring opener, went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run.
Diamondbacks on the mound:
Micah Owings gave up four runs on five hits and three walks in 1 2/3 innings. He was inserted into the seventh spot in the lineup, but never got a chance to hit. Jailen Peguero and Chad Qualls each pitched 1-2-3 innings, and each struck out two of the three batters they faced.
Cubs on the mound:
Lieber gave up a one-out triple to Ojeda, but he was thrown out at home when he tried to score on Justin Upton's pop fly to shallow right. Lieber struck out four, and did not walk a batter in four scoreless innings.

Cubs up next:
Ryan Dempster will make his third spring start Sunday in Surprise, when the Cubs travel to play the Kansas City Royals. Dempster, battling for a spot in the rotation, has given up two earned runs on four hits and two walks over five innings in his two previous starts. The game will be broadcast on WGN TV and WGN Radio.
Diamondbacks up next:
Arizona plays host to the Seattle Mariners on Sunday at Tucson Electric Park. Brandon Webb will make his third spring start. The game can be heard on KTAR 620 AM.
