The 26-year-old Doubront was acquired from the Boston Red Sox one month ago today. He is 26-22 with three saves and a 4.82 ERA (224 ER/418.0 IP) in 98 major league outings (69 starts) during the last five years with the Red Sox. Doubront made at least 27 starts and won 11 games in consecutive seasons in 2012 and 2013, including an 11-6 record and a 4.32 ERA (78 ER/162.1 IP) in 29 games (27 starts) for the World Champions last year. In 2012, Doubront struck out a career high 167 batters in 161.0 innings en route to an 11-10 mark with a 4.86 ERA (87 ER/161.0 IP) in a career-high 29 starts.

Doubront began the 2014 campaign in the Red Sox rotation and turned in a 2-3 record with a 4.54 ERA (21 ER/41.2 IP) in his first eight starts through May 14 but was placed on the disabled list a week later with a left shoulder strain. He pitched mostly in relief upon his return a month later and finished his year with the Red Sox with a 2-4 record and a 6.07 ERA (40 ER/59.1 IP) in 17 appearances (10 starts).

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Doubront was the Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2010 and made his big league debut later that season at the age of 23. In 2012, his first full season in the majors, Doubront led the Red Sox in strikeouts (167) and tied for the team lead in wins (11). Last season, he picked up the win in Game 4 of the World Series at St. Louis after allowing one run in 2.2 innings of relief. Doubront is a native of Venezuela and originally signed with the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent in 2004.

Rosscup, 26, has no record and a 6.48 ERA (6 ER/8.1 IP) in 10 relief appearances with the Cubs this season.
