The Cubs on Sunday recalled right-hander Justin Grimm and infielder Tommy La Stella from Triple-A Iowa. Left-hander Brett Anderson was placed on the disabled list with a lower back strain and lefty Rob Zastryzny was optioned to Iowa.

Rob made his major league debut in 2016, his fourth year in the Cubs organization ... was drafted in the second round of the 2013 draft and became the first Cubs pitcher drafted under Theo Epstein to make the majors ... Went 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA (2 ER/16.0 IP) in eight games (one start) in his debut season with the Cubs ... made his major league debut, August 19 at Colorado, tossing a scoreless inning of relief ... Became the 21st Canadian-born player to appear in a regular season game for the Cubs ... became the ninth Canadian-born pitcher to start for the Cubs, and the first since Ryan Dempster ... His last name of Zastryzny is last alphabetically among pitchers to start a game for the Cubs ...
